Following a brilliant run through the eChampions League Group stage, FC Lorient's Montaxer now has the chance to go even further in the competition with an impressive showing during the eChampions League Knockout stage.

The Italian spoke to us to share his thoughts on an incredible eLigue 1 final, competing in the eChampions League, plus much more.

Tell me about the success you had with eLigue 1 for FC Lorient this season?

“It was an incredible season. It took about three months to get to the Final and I think we went to extra time in five of the seven games we played. It was crazy, but so good to win the trophy.

This is your first season at FC Lorient. What’s it like making the transition from competing in eSerie A to competing eLigue 1?

“It was a bit strange changing leagues. It was difficult at the beginning because the gameplay was different, but I got used to it in the end and played better and better.

What was it like competing in that dramatic best-of-seven-series in the eLigue 1 Finals?

“I think it was one of the best finals ever. A best of seven series is good because you still have to come back. I lost my first game on penalties, but we managed to win it in the end.

Are there any nerves heading into the eChampions League or are you just excited to compete?

“I’m just excited to play and prove that I’m one of the best. I want to get as far as I can to the finals and that’s my dream.

Which player would you be most excited to compete against?

“I’d like to play against Emre Yilmaz. I think he’s the most complete player in the world and I’d like to test myself against him.”
