This season’s FC Pro Open started with two fantastic nights of action in Groups A & B with Super Matchweek 1, so it’s only natural that the Group Stages end with another Super Matchweek.
Over two nights of Super Matchweek 2, Groups C and D will reach their highly anticipated conclusions, bringing the FC Pro Open Group Stage to a close. Six more FC Pro players will qualify for the FC Pro Open Finals and two of them will earn their place in this summer’s FC Pro World Championship.
Matchday 7 - Group C
Matchday 7 sees the six players of Group C return to the stage. Stingrayjrn, nicolas99fc, Danipitbull, Brice, Alinhanlion and AnasBadr will all face off across five rounds of fixtures. But each player has their own paths and pressures they have to navigate.
Can nicolas99fc Overcome The Odds
The odds are stacked against nicolas99fc as he hopes to qualify for the FC Pro Open Finals. On Matchday 3, The Iceman struggled to find the form that led him to becoming World No.1, managing just one win from his five match-ups, beating Brice 6-2 in the final match of the day.
This disappointing set of results left nicolas99fc at the bottom of Group C on three points. However, he is only trailing Alihanlion in third by four points. The question now is whether the Argentine can overturn the deficit and force his way into the FC Pro Open Finals.
Excitement Builds For AnasBadr
In one of the biggest surprises of the FC Pro Open Group Stage, AnasBadr emerged at the top of Group C as Matchday 3 came to a close. The Egyptian delivered a standout performance, winning four of his five matches. His victories came against nicolas99fc (7-3), Brice (4-1), Alihanlion (8-4) and Danipitbull (5-4) - with the only defeat coming at the hands of Stingray, who beat him 5-2.
Sitting on twelve points, AnasBadr is now in a strong position to secure first place in the group, a result that would earn him automatic qualification to the FC Pro World Championship and a spot in the Quarter-Finals of the FC Pro Open Finals. For the current World No.68, it would mark a remarkable milestone in his competitive career.
Things will not be simple for the Team RA’AD star, as Danipitbull, who currently occupies 2nd place, will be bidding to grab that top spot. The Italian will be starting Matchday 7 just two points behind AnasBadr, so the pressure will be immense for both.
Stingray Looking To Bounce Back
Never short on confidence, Stingray entered Matchday 3 full of his unrivaled self-belief. Unfortunately, his confidence was soon subdued as he was dealt three defeats throughout the night. The first coming in his opening match against Danipitbull, who scored 3 without reply.
Stingray responded well to the early setback, bouncing back with two impressive victories, winning against AnasBadr (5-2) and nicolas99fc (8-3). But the win streak wouldn’t continue as was defeated by Brice and Alihanlion to end the day.
This left the GenCity player on six points, sitting in 4th, only one point away from the last qualification spot, currently held by Alihanlion.

Matchday 8 - Group D
On the final matchday of the FC Pro Open Group Stage, the FC Pro players in Group D will complete the list of 12 who have qualified for the Finals and another player will lock in their spot to the FC Pro World Championship. Levi de Weerd, HhezerS, Nassada, Paulo Neto, GuiBarros and GugaFerraz will compete in a group that is just too close to call.
The Difference Of Six Points
The landscape of Group D at the start of Matchday 8 is intriguing to say the least. Only six points separates top and bottom. As it stands, Levi de Weerd is in 1st on ten points and GugaFerraz is in 6th on four points, this is the tightest group seen at this season’s FC Pro Open. With the group being so close, the margins between qualification and elimination will make for a must-see event.
Guga Looking 4 A Win
GugaFerraz’s performance in Matchday 4 was one of missed opportunities and underachievement. The Man City eSports player had an impressive run in the FC Pro Open Global Qualifier, being the only player to win every match en-route to qualification. However, on his FC Pro Open debut, it was far from smooth sailing for Guga.
Across his five matches on Matchday 4, Guga recorded four draws and one defeat. He shared points with Paulo Neto, GuiBarros, Nassada, and Levi de Weerd, before suffering a loss to HhezerS in the final match of the night.
Despite the setbacks qualification to the FC Pro Open Finals is still possible, Guga will be hoping to pick up victories sooner rather than later.
Levi de Weerd v HhezerS - Group Decider?
What could prove to be one of the most pivotal matchups of the FC Pro season is set to unfold on Matchday 8, Levi de Weerd and HhezerS will face off once again on Matchday 8.
Only one point divides Levi de Weerd and HhezerS at the top of Group D, with the players winning ten and nine points respectively. That narrow margin places both in strong contention for qualification to this summer’s FC Pro World Championship.
Back in Matchweek 4, the score was 5-3 in favour of Levi de Weerd. but HhezerS responded impressively to the setback, stringing together three wins in the matches that followed. While Levi secured another two wins and a draw, with his only defeat coming at the hands of his Team Liquid teammate, Paulo Neto.
With qualification and group positioning on the line, the outcome of Levi de Weerd vs. HhezerS could have a decisive impact on the final shape of Group D.
