After the excitement of Super Matchweek 1, it was time for the players of Group C to take to the stage and begin their FC Pro Open campaigns in pursuit of becoming the third FC Pro Open Champion.

An Unexpected Leader In AnasBadr

With a FC Pro World Ranking of 66, expectations around AnasBadr were largely unknown heading into Matchday 3. However, the Egyptian wasted no time in proving he belonged among the elite by defeating World No.1 nicolas99fc in his opening match. From there the 21-year-old secured more victories, only losing once to Stingrayjnr in the third round. In the final round of matches, AnasBadr faced off against Danipitbull, where the winner would top the group by night's end. And it was AnasBadr who triumphed, beating Danipitbull 5-4 capping off a remarkable night and claiming the top spot in Group C as we head into the new year.

A Night To Forget For Nico

The newly crowned World No.1 endured a difficult start to this season’s FC Pro Open.

nicolas99fc struggled to find his feet in Group C, opening with a shock 7–3 defeat to the inspired AnasBadr. Unfortunately for nicolas99fc, the night didn't get much better. In the third round he lost 8-3 to the extremely confident Stingrayjnr. Overall, the Iceman only won one of his five matches, a somewhat convincing 6-2 win against Brice. Despite this victory, the Argentine was left at the foot of the table, with a lot of work to do in Matchday 7.

Qualification Possible For All?

With the intense action of Matchday 3 at an end, Group C is still wide open and progression to the Knockout Stages is still on the table for all six players. 

With AnasBadr and Danipitbull in prime position, occupying the top two spots on 12 and 10 points respectively. Below the top two, Alihanlion, Stingrayjnr and Brice are all within three points of one another, each picking up important wins, but suffering frustrating setbacks. nicolas99fc sits at the bottom of the table on 3 points, however, he still has plenty to play for as he is only 4 points behind Alihanlion in third place. With margins this tight, everything is still to play for in Group C.
