The FC Pro Open reached it's much anticipated Finals - with a champion being crowned and a huge cash prize being won.
January 29

We started with over 75,000 competing hopefuls online and then narrowed the field to 250 players at the FC Pro Open Global Qualifiers. From there, 24 of the world’s best FC Pro players earned their way to the third edition FC Pro Open. After eight action packed matchdays, 12 players emerged from the group stage  to make it into the Finals.

In front of a passionate and loud studio audience at Television Centre in London, across 11 matches, one player rose above the rest and became this season’s FC Pro Open Champion.

Elimination Round

During the FC Pro Open Group Stages, the top player of every group gained automatic qualification to the Quarter-Finals. The players in 2nd and 3rd were placed into the elimination round.

  • AnasBadr 4-5 ManuBachoore

The current FC Pro World Champion ManuBachoore demonstrated his quality in a challenging match-up against the heavily supported AnasBadr. Manu secured victory by scoring his decisive fifth goal late on, leaving Anas with too little time to overcome a two-goal deficit.

  • Umut 5-2 nicolas99fc

Hopes were high for nicolas99fc following his dramatic Group C qualification on Matchday 7, but when he faced former world champion Umut, his FC Pro Open run ended in a 5-2 defeat.

  • Yaskow 3-10 HhezerS

In the highest scoring match of the round, Hhezers delivered a dominant performance, scoring 10 against Yaskow while only conceding three.

  • Nassada 7-3 Tuga810

Nassada’s relentless attacking approach proved  too much for Tuga810, as Nassada powered his way through to the Quarter-Finals thanks to a convincing 7-3 win.

All four winners in this round secured qualification at the FC Pro World Championship this summer. Meaning 8 of the 32 participants have been confirmed!

Quarter-Finals

This is the point where group winners Vejrgang, Emre Yilmaz, Danipitbull and Levi de Weerd would enter the fray.

Only two of the FC Pro players who made it to the Quarter-Finals made it to the same stage last season; Vejrgang and Levi de Weerd. Which highlights just how competitive this competition continues to be.

  • Vejrgang 6-5 ManuBachoore

The World No.1 versus the reigning FC Pro World Champion. A contest for the ages. They’ve clashed at top FC Pro events countless times over the years and this showdown was one of their best. The two couldn’t be separated after 90 in-game minutes, with the score tied 4-4. However, in extra time, Vejrgang struck in the 109th minute, before shutting down his defence to win without the need for penalties.

  • Levi de Weerd 5-3 Umut

In another chapter of the Team Liquid v RBLZ Gaming rivalry, two of its most exciting players went head-to-head in the Quarter-Finals. Levi de Weerd took a commanding 4-0 lead before Umut found a responset. Levi then extended the advantage to it 5-1, leaving Umut trailing too far behind to mount a comeback and securing Levi’s place in the Semi-Finals.

  • Emre Yilmaz 8-7 HhezerS

Throughout  his FC Pro Open campaign HhezerS consistently demonstrated that he belongs among the elite FC Pro players on the planet. Picking up huge results and scoring plenty of goals, the Italian was well worth his spot in the QF. But his FC Pro Open debut came to a heartbreaking conclusion, as he was narrowly defeated by the reigning eChampions League champion Emre Yilmaz. HhezerS trailed Emre for most of the match, but battled to keep leads to a minimum. But as the match came to its end, Emre scored his eighth and decisive goal, putting redemption out of reach for HhezerS despite a late goal. The match ended 8-7.

  • Danipitbull 7-6 Nassada

The last of the Quarter-Finals delivered the night’s greatest drama. Both Danipitbull and Nassada were playing all-out attacking FC. The two traded the lead back and forth throughout the game and with just stoppage time remaining the score was tied 6-6. In the last kick of the match Danipitbull had a chance to win and buried his opportunity, taking the lead and erupting in celebration. Overwhelmed with emotion, he laid on the floor and let it sink in that he had just made it to the FC Pro Open Semi-Finals.

Semi-Finals

The four players that made it to the Semi-Final were rewarded with automatic qualification for next season’s FC Pro Open. However, on the night, there was still work to be done for Vejrgang, Levi de Weerd, Emre Yilmaz and Danipitbull.

  • Vejrgang 6-5 Levi de Weerd

In a repeat of FC Pro Open 24, Vejrgang and Levi de Weerd faced off once again in the Semi-Finals, in which  Vejrgang won 5-4. So would it be revenge or repeat for Levi?

In the opening minutes Vejrgang took the lead and looked poised to cruise towards victory. But Levi showed his resilience, by fighting back late on to make the game 5-5 as the final whistle blew. With the pressure building and a place in the Final on the line, Vejrgang started extra time by taking the lead, making the score 6-5. That goal put the emphasis on Levi to find a response.. Chances came and went, but as time ticked away, the Falcons player remained solid defensively and held on while the crowd fuelled the sense of drama.  When the match concluded Vejrgang was jubilant, heading to his third consecutive FC Pro Open Final. While Levi de Weerd fell at the Semi-Finals for the third year in a row.

  • Emre Yilmaz 9-5 Danipitbull

The second FC Pro Open Semi-Final saw two of the most exciting players on the FC Pro scene collide in a high-scoring thriller. In his first FC Pro Open appearance, Danipitbull had already exceeded expectations by reaching the final four. Standing in his way of the final was the formidable talent of Emre Yilmaz.

The action started with a short period of defensive dominance from both players. It was Emre Yilmaz who broke the deadlock and quickly doubled his lead. Danipitbull bounced back and tied the game 2-2, showing his class in attack. However, this only seemed to spark Emre into life, as he found the net four more times before the halftime break.

The second half continued to prove difficult for Danipitbull, as he conceded early and slipped five goals behind. Emre maintained his pressure, not allowing his opponent to get back into the game and then capped his performance off with a ninth goal. This all but ended Danipitbull’s hopes of making the Final. `The 9-5 victory sealed Emre’s place in the Final, setting up yet another major showdown in a final with Vejrgang.

Final

  • Vejrgang 4-1 Emre Yilmaz

Two players with extensive competitive history and a rivalry built upon respect, Vejrgang vs Emre Yilmaz has quickly become the defining match-up in FC Pro competition. This markedthe third Final between the two since May 2025. They previously clashed in the 2025 eChampions League Final, where Emre Won 2-1 to become a two-time eCL champ. Then in December 2025, the rivalry continued in the eEuro Final, where Vergang got his revenge as he beat Emre 12-9 to win another eEuro title for Denmark.

An interesting sub-plot to the first major final of the season was that Vejrgang had already defeated two Team Liquid players (ManuBachoore and Levi de Weerd) en-route to the Final, and a third standing in his way in the shape of Emre Yilmaz. Could the defiant Dane complete the sweep and win against all three Team Liquid stars?

As both players entered the arena anticipation rippled through the crowd. With many watching at home, the FC Pro world waited for the history to be written.

It was Emre who took an early leadi n the eighth minute, shocking Vejrgang into action. He responded by equalising just moments later. As the first half progressed it was clear that the finalists were very familiar with each other's style and tactics. Both working hard to find the next breakthrough. It was in the 32nd minute when a go-ahead goal was scored by Vejrgang. And just before the break, a third was added by the defending FC Pro Open Champion. 3-1 heading into the second half, Emre Yilmaz needed a trademark comeback to rescue his trophy hopes.

The second half began cautiously, with neither player wanting to make a mistake with so much on the line. In the 65th minute Vejrgang extended his lead to three, netting his fourth goal to improve his commanding position. From there, a masterclass of defence and tactical savvy from Vejrgang helped him hold on to his lead.

When the match was brought to an end, Vejrgang had successfully defended his FC Pro Open title. In doing so, he also claimed  the $100,000 prize, making him the first FC Pro player to win over $1million in prize money.
